چکیده
In this paper an analysis of a distributed control system based on Java is presented. A classical PID controlled system is implemented simulating each part of a real control system running in different computers connected to a local area network. The communication message time periods and their jitter are measured running the system in different computer environments and the results are presented and discussed at the end. Real time specification for Java is used in the implemented software and the results are compared to other

Introducing Distribution into a RTSJ-based Component Framework
The Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) [6] is becoming a popular choice in the world of real-time and embedded systems. But, a growing complexness of these systems brings a demand for their distribution. However, there are only a few projects addressing application of RTSJ in distributed environments. In this paper we introduce our approach based on software connectors to support distribut...

Distributed real-time and embedded (DRE) applications possess stringent quality of service (QoS) requirements, such as low latency, bounded jitter, and high throughput. An increasing number of DRE applications are developed using QoSenabled middleware, such as Real-time CORBA and the Realtime Specification for Java (RTSJ), to ensure predictable endto-end QoS. Real-time CORBA is an open middlewa...
متن کاملA Real-Time RMI Framework for the RTSJ
The Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) provides a platform for the development of real-time applications. However, the RTSJ does not take the distribution requirements of real-time applications into consideration. As distribution in Java is often implemented using Java’s Remote Method Invocation (RMI), a real-time version of RMI between RTSJ implementations can provide a platform for writi...
متن کاملPorting jRate (RT-Java) to a POSIX Real-Time Linux Kernel
This paper illustrates how the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) can be implemented over a real-time operating system (RTOS). We describe the implementation of a subset of the RTSJ over PaRTiKle, which is a new embedded RTOS designed to be compatible with the POSIX.51 standard. We evaluate the performance of the implementation according to specific features of the RTSJ like eficiency and ...
متن کاملRTZen: Highly Predictable, Real-Time Java Middleware for Distributed and Embedded Systems,
Distributed real-time and embedded (DRE) applications possess stringent quality of service (QoS) requirements, such as predictability, latency, and throughput constraints. Real-Time CORBA, an open middleware standard, allows DRE applications to allocate, schedule, and control resources to ensure predictable end-to-end QoS. The Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) has been developed to provid...
